Winter News 2021

As 2021 ends and the company directors review the year and set challenges for the next it is even harder to believe that another business year is closing. For the company it has been a year of change. We would like to thank some people who have been key to the changes.

  • The team at GoGecko Recruitment https://www.gogecko.org.uk/ both Helen & Maria have worked tirelessly during a very challenging recruitment period to find us individuals that fit into our team, can adopt our values and long-term plans.
  • In the summer our company office manager commenced a working relationship with an external company to ensure that all matters HR were up to scratch. Linda from Castle Consultancy has undergone an in-depth HR Healthcheck and provided support and training in the latest requirements.
  • The directors reached out to another local company Life Ladder www.lifeladder.com to gain support and develop some self-improvement areas within our company. We are excited to continue working alongside Natalie moving into 2022.
  • In April we said goodbye to our junior developer, Matt. It was tough to say goodbye to a team member during Lock down, we all wished him good luck in his new position.
  • The team welcomed Juan, into a brand-new role, an account manager for RedAtlas in June. Juan has developed his role and is very much part of our team. RedAtlas customers are already seeing the benefit of having a central person to approach.
  • In October we said farewell to Nick, the company customer services manager. Nick worked with us for 4 and a half years, we all wished him well in his future employment.

In June we moved offices, our new workplace, fits with new covid working policy, providing ample space for the team, along with this we have a sun terrace to read on in our lunch breaks. Although as a company we have adopted a hybrid way of working, the office is the ideal place to come together a couple of times a week.

The company continues to place mental health within the business, the summer months saw the office manager complete her level three in counselling skills,  to then  move onto becoming a bereavement support volunteer for Cruse in her spare time. 2022 will provide her  opportunities to gain a greater understanding of mental health in the workplace with MHFA England and to support a new local charity alongside Cruse.

The autumn saw George start his final year as a software engineer apprentice @ Chichester University. We look forward to celebrating with him as he graduates next summer. More opportunity to eat cake!

For those of you that follow our social media you may have read our updates about an inhouse company Bake Off competition that was held this autumn for all the team based in the Goring office. For five weeks each Monday saw the arrival of a freshly baked product that one of the team baked, the remaining team donated to Children in Need so that they could taste the delight and rate it. The winner of the 2021 company bake off was Juan with his carrot cake, he won a Mary Berry Best of Baking cookbook. We all await his baking gifts next year, although maybe not the extended waistlines.

As we write this, the latest government announcements look very unsettling for all. After a challenging year where uncertainty has continued to be key, the team at Nevalee however,  will continue to support our customers with whatever challenges arise, our developers will continue to listen to what the customer requires to help them ride the coming waves and our support team will remain at their desks to answer questions and find solutions to ease the way forward as we move into a new year.

All the team wish you a peaceful and very happy Christmas.
